Karli Bustos joined Eastern New Mexico Athletics in January 2025 as the head volleyball coach after five seasons as the head coach at Trinidad State Junior College in Trinidad, Colo.

With the Trojans, she guided the program to a 63-91 record. Most notably, Bustos helped the program go from a 2-20 season in 2020-21 to a 23-10 mark in 2024-25. The 2024-25 season is the highest winning percentage (.696) in school history. TSJC qualified for the NJCAA Region IX tournament three times during her tenure.

In 2024, the Trojans led the NJCAA District IX DI-South in aces (306) and had three players named south region players of the week.

The Espanola, N.M. native took the role in Trinidad, Colo. after four seasons as an assistant coach at New Mexico Highlands. In her final two seasons at NMHU, Bustos coached 13 all-academic Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) honorees.

She began her coaching career in Las Vegas, N.M., leading the West Las Vegas High School team. She earned NMAA District 2-AAAA coach of the year honors in 2014 after guiding the team to an 18-5 record and perfect 7-0 mark in district play.

Bustos holds two degrees from NMHU. She earned a bachelor's in elementary education in 2015 and a master's in educational leadership in 2019.
