Ezekiel Mauga comes to ENMU in June 2025 after spending a year as a strength and conditioning coach for Oceanside High School (CA) and a personal trainer for EOS Fitness Gym.
The San Diego, Calif. native comes to Eastern New Mexico after garnering experiences with five different DI programs. Most recently he held an internship with Washington State where he led team workouts and assisted coaching staffs as needed.
From 2022-24 he was a graduate assistant with Eastern Washington. His primary sports with the school included men’s and women’s tennis and women’s golf. In his role, he led team and individual training sessions. He also helped the department work on conditioning programs for the football and women’s soccer teams. Outside of typical day-to-day duties, Mauga also taught a course focusing on Olympic lifts and variations.
Mauga is no stranger working with ENMU's associate athletic director for sports performance Justin McClure. Mauga was an intern for Brigham Young University (BYU) in spring 2022. At BYU, he assisted strength and conditioning coaches with various tests and drills.
In fall 2021, Mauga was an intern for the University of Utah. With the Utes, he helped with workouts and maintain nutrition space.
He is a certified strength and conditioning specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He also is certified in CPR and First Aid.
