Joseph Toenjes joined the Eastern New Mexico athletic training staff in October 2025. 
 

Prior to joining Eastern’s athletic training team, Toenjes was the head athletic trainer at Adams State University. In his time at Adams State, he orchestrated a sports medicine department into newer day practices and technology which included a sports performance club to work with student-athletes in developing their neuromuscular control, strength, conditioning, flexibility, and recovery. 

Some of Joseph’s responsibilities will include being in charge of on field coverage, rehab, and recovery. He will be working with all teams, but his main focus will be with volleyball, men’s and women’s basketball, and baseball.
