The win snapped a four-match winless streak for the Zias who improve to 9-11 and surpassed last year's win total while UTPB is now 8-11.
Up 13-9 in the first set, ENMU scored seven straight points thanks to four attack errors by the Falcons, a kill apiece from senior

Set three saw the Zias take a 5-1 advantage and never look back as they lead the entire way. The closest the Falcons got was 10-7 after an ENMU attack error. Although Eastern was held to a .152 attack percentage and 11 kills, UTPB hit -.029 and were blocked three times.
Barron and Lawson finished the night with seven kills apiece while senior

Defensively, freshman
Andrea Aguilar set season-highs in digs (17) and service aces. Lawson added 11 digs and to blocks as well. Gibbons led the squad with three blocks, all assisted.
ENMU ended the night with 43 kills on a .242 attack percentage and had seven service aces while holding UTPB to 21 kills and a hitting percentage of .032. The Falcons did come out with an 8-5 block advantage on the night.
The Zias return to the court and Lone Star Conference action Friday night when they take on Texas A&M-Kingsville at 7 p.m. in Greyhound Arena. The match will be Eastern's annual Dig Pink match in seeking to raise money and awareness about breast cancer.
