PORTALES, N.M. – The Eastern New Mexico volleyball team hosts Lone Star Conference foe Texas A&M-Kingsville Friday at 7 p.m. in Greyhound Arena. The contest will also serve as the Zias annual Dig Pink match that seeks to raise awareness about breast cancer.

Lauren Frye increased her team leading k/s average to 3.09 and is now hitting .255. Senior
Lindsey Barron is second on the squad with 2.31 k/s while fellow classmate
Agatha Gibbons is pacing the squad with a .297 attack percentage, the third highest in the conference.
Senior
Kennedi Catano comes in with 5.22 a/s and a total of 386 assists on the season. She is 27 assists shy of moving up to fourth on the school's career list. Fellow senior
Karra Day has added 343 assists and 4.64 a/s.
Defensively, sophomore
Lindsay Bost leads the team with 3.86 d/s. In the two matches this week as the libero, freshman
Andrea Aguilar is averaging 4.71 d/s and has three service aces. Gibbons continues to pace the team with 76 blocks, 13 of them solo. Rejecting 68 opponents attacks has been senior
Bree Anna Lucero while Frye has contributed with 48 blocks.
As a team, Eastern is hitting .172 with 11.7 k/s and 10.9 a/s. They posted 85 service aces but hit into 118 service errors. The Zias average 13.4 d/s and hold a 150-136.5 block advantage. Opponents are posting 11.6 k/s, 10.8 a/s and hitting .169.
Scouting Texas A&M-KingsvilleOn Tuesday, Texas A&M-Kingsville was swept on the road by Texas-Permian Basin. The Javelinas also lost at St. Edward's in five on Saturday to enter the weekend on a two-match losing streak. Previously, TAMUK had won five of their last six. They have conference victories this year over Eastern New Mexico, Cameron, Midwestern State and Texas A&M-Commerce.
Leading the Javelinas with 209 kills and 2.99 k/s is Ashley Bukowski. Krystal Faison (2.41), Stephanie Johns (2.20) and Kelsey Washington (2.55) all average over two kills a set. Johns is hitting a team-best .281 while Bukowski has a .278 attack percentage. Setting the ball for them is Casey Klobedans with 673 assists and 9.75 a/s. She also paces the squad at the service line with 24 aces. Faison has also recorded 21 service aces this season.
Brett Zaccardo comes in with a 4.81 d/s average while Faison and Washington are getting 2.97 and 2.56 d/s, respectively. At the net, Ashley Tipps has blocked 74 shots with her 1.16 b/s mark being the fourth best in the LSC. Johns contributes 68 rejections with 15 being solo, third most in the conference.
TAMUK is averaging 12.9 k/s and 11.8 a/s with the second highest LSC attack percentage of .230. They enter with 96 service aces and post 1.37 per set, ranking first in the conference. Defensively, the Javelinas are getting 15.0 d/s and have blocked 172 attacks for an average of 2.5 per set. Opponents are hitting .173 with 12.0 k/s and 11.2 a/s.
