PORTALES, N.M. — The Eastern New Mexico University soccer teams both completed season-series wins over West Texas A&M, with the Zias sweeping for the first time in team history. The volleyball team picked up a mid-week win over Texas-Permian Basin, while the football team had a big matchup of last season's co-LSC champions. The rodeo team concluded its fall season at Texas Tech. The Goeasternathletics.com Student Athletes of the Week were Seth Bailey (football), Lauren Frye (volleyball), Fabienne Wilson (women's soccer), James Gutierrez (men's soccer), Kortney Cleveland (women's rodeo) and Levi Lord (men's rodeo).
                                                                                                             
Seth Bailey (R-Sr., LB, Texico, N.M./Texico HS) paced the Greyhound defense against Tarleton State, with 10 tackles, which included 2.5 for a loss. He also had an interception during Eastern's second-half rally and blocked a field goal.
 
Lauren Frye (Amissville, Va./Highland School) had double-digit kills in all three matches last week, finishing with 47. She averaged 3.92 k/s with a .315 attack percentage. Against Texas-Permian Basin, Frye had 19 kills and career-best .615 attack percentage as she nearly matched the Falcons kill total of 21 for the match.
 
Fabienne Wilson (Sr., GK, Alamogordo, N.M./Alamogordo HS/Garden City CC) made six saves, to earn her second shutout over West Texas A&M, this season. She made a critical diving save in the first half, during a flurry of action in front of the Zia net. Wilson has three shutouts for the season and five over her career.
                                                                                   
James Gutierrez (R-Fr., Albuquerque, N.M./la Cueva HS) made six saves in a 0-0 draw with West Texas A&M to earn his third shutout of the season. He helped the Greyhounds win the season series for the second time ever over the Buffaloes. Gutierrez lowered his GAA to 0.944 while seeing his save percentage increase to .833 on the season.
 
Kortney Cleveland (Sr., Murrieta, Calif./Julian Charter HS) registered a second-place performance in the barrel race at the Texas Tech rodeo. She rallied from a sixth-place finish in the first go, to place second in the short round. Cleveland currently ranks fifth in the region in the event, while Eastern is the top team in the rankings.
 
Levi Lord (Fr., Sturgis, S.D./Sturgis HS) finished third in the team roping at Texas Tech. He opened competition with a second-place performance in the first go. He is currently tied as the 14th-ranked heeler in the region.
