PORTALES, N.M. – The final road match of the season for the Eastern New Mexico volleyball team takes place Tuesday night when they face in-state rival New Mexico Highlands at 6 p.m. in Wilson Complex. The Zias will be looking to avoid being swept by the Cowgirls in the season series as NMHU has won both earlier meetings this season.

Lauren Frye is four kills shy of reaching 300 kills for the season. She is putting up 2.99 k/s and hitting .224. Senior
Agatha Gibbons is fifth in the Lone Star Conference with a .307 attack percentage while adding 2.18 k/s. Fellow classmate
Lindsey Barron is getting 2.28 k/s as well.
Senior setters
Kennedi Catano and
Karra Day are posting 5.31 and 4.82 a/s, respectively. Sophomore
Lindsay Bost comes in with a team-high 32 service aces while fellow sophomore
Courtney Lawson is right behind her with 31.
At the net, Gibbons is third in the conference and 26th in the nation with 108 kills. Of her total, 24 have been solo rejections. Needing 12 blocks to reach triple-digits for the year is senior
Bree Anna Lucero.
Freshman
Andrea Aguilar paces Eastern with 3.42 d/s. Both Bost (3.36) and Lawson (3.14) are averaging over three digs a set as well.
As a team, ENMU is hitting .171 with 11.8 k/s and 11.1 a/s. They recorded 130 service aces but have hit into 157 errors. The Zias are getting 14.0 d/s and have a 209-190.5 advantage in blocks. Opposing teams are hitting .161 against Eastern with 11.4 k/s and 10.7 a/s.
Scouting New Mexico HighlandsNew Mexico Highlands comes into the match having lost four straight and will be playing their final home game of the season on Tuesday. The Cowgirls celebrated their senior on Saturday in which they fell in four sets to Fort Lewis. NMHU is still has a slight chance to qualify for the RMAC Tournament but must win their final two match and get lots of help.
Alicia Moreno enters the contest leading the team with 261 kills, 2.87 k/s and a .202 attack percentage. Also with more than two kills a set is Andrea Nunez (2.46) and Kristin Woody (2.12). Nunez though has not played in the past month. Setter Shayli Schulz is averaging 4.98 a/s and paces the squad with 22 service aces.
Defensively, Jessica Piper is putting up 4.29 d/s while Moreno is contributing with 2.86 d/s. Tianna Matthews has blocked 73 attacks including 11 by herself. Adding 54 rejections is Katie Trammel while Nunez (31) and Schulz (36) have over 30 rejections apiece.
NMHU is hitting .157 for the season with 12.0 k/s and 11.0 a/s. They have recorded 125 service aces while hitting into 176 errors. At the net, they average 1.7 b/s and have totaled 160 blocks. Opponents are producing 12.4 k/s and 11.6 a/s with a .205 attack percentage and getting 2.2 b/s.
