COMMERCE, TEXAS — Despite coming out of the gate taking the first set, the Eastern New Mexico University volleyball team couldn't outlast Texas A&M University-Commerce Friday, losing the match 3-1 (25-19, 21-25, 18-25, 21-25).
Despite the hot start, the Greyhounds (10-11, 3-7 Lone Star Conference) found the frontline of the Lions (13-8, 5-5) to be a huge obstacle.  The lions recorded 14 blocks, frustrating ENMU all night long.
Lauren Frye led the team with 11 kills while Brooklyn Biel continued her recent success adding 10 of her own.  Alexis Aguirre had a team-high 34 assists while Courtney Lawson, Andrea Aguilar and Talaitupu Faumui all had over 10 digs.
Despite the ardent defense from the Lions, ENMU played with them the entire match, managing to lose only one set without at least tying or leading Commerce during play.  Both the second and fourth sets were back-and-forth, with the Greyhounds taking the lead several times before eventually falling in the fourth.
The Greyhounds continue their three-game road trip Saturday, taking on Texas Woman's University in Denton, Texas, at 1:00 p.m. (MDT)
