CANYON, TEXAS — The Eastern New Mexico University volleyball team couldn't manage to overcome a seemingly rejuvenated West Texas A&M University team, falling in straight sets 3-0 (22-25, 16-25, 21-25) Tuesday.
After beating the Lady Buffs (12-15, 4-11 LSC) in four sets at home for the first time in over a decade, the Greyhounds (12-16, 4-11 LSC) ran into a much different team in Canyon, with WT looking like some of their championship teams of the past. While ENMU had their chances, especially in the first set where they only lost by 3 points, for every advantage they had WT seemed to have an answer.
Brooklyn Biel and Lauren Frye led the Hounds in kills with 13 apiece. Biel finished with a team-high .333 hitting percentage. Alexis Aguirre added 39 assists on the night.
With the loss, ENMU is now tied at seventh place with WT, with only one more conference game left to play. The Greyhounds will head to Kingsville, Texas, to take on the Javelinas in their regular season finale Nov. 13, at 6:00 p.m.
