Eastern is 7-10-1 against Texas Woman's University and the teams have split the past four games, with all those contests ending in a 2-1 score. The Pioneers swept the 2015 season series, but had to rally from second-half deficits both times. In Portales, Morgan Fairbanks scored the first goal of the game with less than 20 minutes to play, but TWU extended the game and won in overtime. In Denton, Danielle Caro staked the Hounds to a 1-0 lead 22:35, but Texas Woman's scored early in the second half and added the game-winning goal with 8:28 left in regulation. Cristina Escobedo started both games in net and made one save in the home game and six in the road contest.

The Pioneers are 6-3 at home against Eastern. The teams have never met in a neutral site game. The teams have met 18 times, with a single goal being the margin of victory on 14 occasions. The Hounds are 7-7 in one-goal games against TWU. The teams have gone to overtime five times, double overtime twice, but the only tie (2-2) came on September 29, 2013. ENMU won the initial meeting (Oct. 3, 2003) between the teams, 2-1, on an overtime goal from Megan Dozier. The victory was Eastern's first LSC victory.
