PORTALES, N.M. — After facing a 13-point deficit, the Eastern New Mexico University women's basketball team (8-13; LSC 4-7) managed to pull within a single point with just over 30 seconds to play, but Cameron University (13-8; LSC 10-2) held on for a 68-63 win in Lone Star Conference action, Wednesday night at Greyhound Arena. Senior forward

The setback marked the first time the Aggies earned a win over Eastern at Greyhound Arena since December 4, 2010. Eastern had won three consecutive home games against Cameron prior to tonight.
The Aggies took their largest lead of the game, 45-32 on a Cristina Soriano layup early in the second half. Tucker scored four straight points to spark a 15-4 Zia run, which saw ENMU close within 49-47 on a three-point play from
Jordyn Cooper (Jr., G, Texico, N.M./Texico HS) with 14:17 left in the game. Cooper fueled the run with 11 points.
The Aggies twice pushed their lead back to eight, the last time coming on a Briana Underwood layup to give CU a 61-53 edge with 9:32 on the clock. Eastern made one final 10-3 run over the ensuing 4:59 and pulled within 64-63 on a trey from
Jordyn Cooper with 34 seconds left. The Aggies connected on their final four free throws to hold on for the win.
Tucker's efforts on the boards helped the Zias to hold a 55-48 rebounding advantage, which included a 15-10 lead on the offensive glass. The performance allowed ENMU a 16-7 lead in second-chance points. The Aggies countered with an 11-4 edge in fast break points and a 12-5 margin in points off turnovers.
Sarah Stinnett (Jr., G, Fort Sumner, N.M./Howard College) scored a team-best 15 points, grabbed five boards, dished out five assists and had three steals.
Jordyn Cooper poured in 17 points, while
