Pope K's eight in six innings Against Angelo State

SAN ANGELO, TEXAS — The Eastern New Mexico baseball team fell to Angelo State Friday 8-5, after some late inning scoring by the Rams that ended up being the deciding factor in the contest.

Trailing by one run after the first inning, the Greyhounds (15-29, 10-20 LSC) took the lead 4-2 by the fifth inning.  The Rams (33-14, 20-13 LSC) would score two runs in the bottom of the sixth to trail by one run at 5-4, but four runs scored in the bottom of the eighth would put ENMU away.

Dylan Nault finished the game going 2-for-4 from the plate with a team leading two RBIs and one walk.  The Greyhound sonly recorded seven hits, with Nault being the only player with multiple hits. 

Keenan Dodd had a great day on the bases, stealing a season high three bases, also putting him tied for third in ENMU single game history.  Cody Pope recorded his team-leading 11th start of the season, pitching six innings and fanning eight batters while only giving up two earned runs.

The Greyhounds will continue their final series of the regular season against the Rams Saturday with the first pitch scheduled for 1:00 p.m. )MST).
