Bost Ties Single Game Career High in Loss to Commerce

PORTALES, N.M. — The Eastern New Mexico University volleyball team moved to 5-6 on the season after a hard fought matchup with Lone Star Conference powerhouse Texas A&M University-Commerce, losing 3-0 (25-17, 25-22, 25-23).

Andrea Aguilar recorded 19 digs on the day and only one error, giving her 198 digs on the season.  Offensively, both Desiray Anderson and Lauren Frye recorded six kills each, with Alix Russell and Laura Landreth each adding five.

Commerce moved to 2-0 in LSC play while the Greyhounds fell to 0-2.  It is only the second time second time this season ENMU has been beaten in straight sets.

Anderson had a very efficient night, finishing with a hitting percentage of .400 while Russell followed her with a .364 percentage.  As a team the Greyhounds recorded a .094 hitting percentage, compared to their season average of .168.

ENMU is now 5-7 in sets decided by three or fewer points out of 41 total sets played.  Each team recorded six total team blocks.  The greyhounds are ranked No. 2 in their conference for total blocks with 92, a 2.09 block per set average.

Along with blocks, Eastern in ranked No. 1 in the LSC with 65 service aces.  In the loss to Commerce the Greyhounds recorded seven aces, led by Lindsay Bost with five.

Bost is second in the conference at 0.38 aces a set.  Her five aces against Commerce not only tied her single game career-high but also tied her for fifth all-time for most aces in a single game at Eastern.

ENMU will head to Hobbs, N.M., to take on the University of the Southwest Tuesday, Sept. 22.  Tip off is at 6:00 p.m. (MT).
