CANYON, TEXAS — Senior
Jenna Sievers tallied her first goal of the season for the Eastern New Mexico University women's soccer team (3-6-1; LSC 2-3), 4:30 into the second half of Wednesday night's Lone Star Conference match at West Texas A&M. The Lady Buffs (5-4; LSC 3-2) responded with the game-winning goal less than three minutes later, and defeated Eastern by a 4-1 score, at The Pitch.
The win was WT's third in a row over the Hounds, since Eastern had a 3-0-1 stretch against the Lady Buffs from 2013-14.
In the Numbers
- The goal was the sixthof Sievers' career and her first of the season
- WT held an 18-8 edge in total shots, with a slim 9-6 advantage in the second half
- The Lady Buffs also enjoyed a narrow 9-7 lead in shots on goal
- Marissa Torres made four saves for the Hounds
The Eastern New Mexico University women's soccer team will return to action on Sunday, for another LSC match, at Midwestern State. The game will begin at 12 p.m. MT.
