PORTALES, N.M. – The Eastern New Mexico University Women's Volleyball team picked up a hard-fought, 3-1 (25-23, 27-29, 25-23, 25-10), road win over Texas Woman's on Friday evening in Denton, Texas. The Greyhounds climb to 16-10 on the season and 11-5 in Lone Star Conference play with the victory. With the win, ENMU Head Coach Sia Poyer is now a win away from the 50-win plateau in his four-year tenure with the 'Hounds.
 
"The match was tight in the first three sets," Poyer said. "We expect that when we play on the road. Offensively, we did just enough to be in it. Defensively, we played awesome. Our floor defense was incredible, especially Andrea Aguilar, Courtney Lawson and Talaitupu Faumui."
 
Senior Lauren Frye continued her tear this season with a 23 kill performance and a .409 attack percentage, marking the eighth time the Amissville, Va., native tallied at least 20 kills this season. Brooklyn Biel and Courtney Lawson also picked up double-digit kill totals, recording 15 and 10, respectively.
 
Lawson added 23 digs to record her 34^th-career double-double. Andrea Aguilar led all players with 27 digs. Kaitlyn Kluna and Alexis Aguirre set the table for an offense that hit .276 as a team. Kluna set a new career high with 31 assists in the winning effort.
 
"I'm just proud of us for hanging in there and fighting through our errors and their mini runs," Poyer said.
