SAN ANGELO, Texas — Eastern New Mexico's Dylan Nault recorded all but one of the baseball team's hits Friday in their 7-0 loss to Angelo State University.
The Greyhounds (10-25, 3-18 LSC) had a tough going against the Rams (21-14, 14-7 LSC), who have one of the best rotations in the Lone Star. Recording only three hits in the game, ENMU could never quite get it going offensively. Keenan Dodd recorded the other lone hit for ENMU.
Angelo struck early, putting up two runs in the second innings followed by another three in the bottom of the fourth. They finished off their day with two more runs in the eighth inning.
Daniel Schiller, who came in as relief in the fourth, finished throwing 4.2 innings while allowing only two earned runs and striking out two batters.
Eastern did have some success reaching base, garnering four walks along with their three hits. However, the Rams pitching staff and defense made sure no runs would score, stranding six Greyhound baserunners.
Eastern will return to the field Saturday to take on Angelo State in a double-header. The first pitch is scheduled for 12 p.m. (MT).
