PORTALES, N.M. — With the Grand Opening of Al Whitehead Field at Greyhound Stadium completed and a huge success, the Eastern New Mexico Football team can prepare to host defending Lone Star Conference champion, Texas A&M-Commerce. The game is scheduled to kick off at 1 p.m., and tickets from the game and the ENMU College "Daze" Rodeo will allow admission to both events.

The legendary "Voice of the Greyhounds" Dr. Donald Elder will be on hand to broadcast the game on KSEL 105.9 FM, which also will have an

The Matchup
The Greyhounds are 12-14 against Texas A&M-Commerce, with an 8-3 home mark. The series began on Oct. 20, 1984, with a 40-30 win by the Lions at Blackwater Draw. ENMU's first series win came on the road during the 1986 season, by a 21-6 score.
Eastern's last win in the series was a 42-35 road decision, with
Darrelyn McCloud's end zone interception clinching the game on the final play. The interception closed Eastern's magical season in 2013, with the Hounds registering their fourth road win in the series and a share of the Lone Star Conference title.
The last time Texas A&M-Commerce played at ENMU, they emerged with a 48-32 win at Blackwater Draw in 2014. The Lions roared to a 45-10 lead, but touchdown runs from
Andrew Lopez and E'lon Spight, followed by a scoring catch from Jacob Johnson closed the gap. Today marks the first meeting between the teams at Al Whitehead Field at Greyhound Stadium.
Greyhound Head Coach
Josh Lynn is in his fifth season at Eastern and has a 21-21 record. In
2013, the Greyhounds finished with a 5-1 mark in Lone Star Conference play to share the league title with Tarleton State. Colby Carthel is in his fourth season as head coach of Texas A&M-Commerce and is 25-12 over that span. The Lions are 12-1 in conference play in the last two seasons, with the lone loss coming in a 40-37 decision at Midwestern State in the 2014 season.
