Hounds Hike to Kingsville

PORTALES, N.M. - The Eastern New Mexico University volleyball team makes the 650 mile trek to Kingsville, Texas, for a showdown with Texas A&M-Kingsville on Friday. First serve is slated for 6 p.m. on the road. The Hounds enter the matchup at 8-13 overall and 5-6 in Lone Star Conference action. ENMU is currently eighth in the LSC standing with nine matches to go in the regular season.

Earlier this season, the Green and Silver won the home matchup against the Javelinas with a 3-1 victory on Sept. 15 at Greyhound Arena.
 
• Senior libero Andrea Aguilar enters the weekend second in the LSC with 356 digs on the season. The reigning LSC Preseason Defensive Player of the Year became the second player in program history to eclipse the 1,700 career dig mark this past week against West Texas A&M. The Clovis product needs 222 to match Caitlin Murphy's program record of 1,930.

• Senior middle blocker Brooklyn Biel has been an anchor in the middle of the Greyhounds defense for the past three seasons. The Laveen, Ariz., native leads the team with 65 blocks, including 18 solo stuffs. Against Cameron, Biel notched 10 rejections, coming one block shy of matching the all-time single match record. The senior needs just two more blocks to climb into the top-10 list in program history. Additionally, Biel also leads the team with 219 kills and a .245 hitting percentage.

• Senior setter Alexis Aguirre is 65 assists away from passing Stacey Estlund for the fifth most dimes in school history. The Artesia, NM, native is just the seventh player in program history to distribute 2,000 assist in her career.

• Setter Kaitlyn Kluna has been a dangerous weapon from the service line all season for ENMU. The Helotes, Texas, product has seven more aces than the next closest player with a league-leading 39 on the year. Against Angelo State earlier this year, Kluna dropped in six aces, including a pair back-to-back in the fifth set to clinch the victory for the Hounds.
