SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS —With a 48-45 lead and less than 20 seconds left,
Brandi Gomez stepped in front a pass and calmly drained two free throws after a foul was called. The free throws sealed the fifth win of the season for the Eastern New Mexico University women's basketball team. The Greyhounds (5-5) rallied from an eight-point deficit in Saturday's contest at Bill Greehey Arena to post a 52-45 win over St. Mary's (5-8).
Daeshi McCants paced the Hounds with 14 points and 14 rebounds to register her third double double of the season and seventh of her career.
Inside the Series
- Today's contest was the sixth meeting between the teams and just the second since the Hounds posted a 59-50 win in 1998

The Key Run
- Alexia Torres fastbreak near the end of the first half staked the Rattlers to a 26-18 lead
- Mikaehla Connor hit a free throw with 20 seconds left and the Hounds scored eight straight points to pull even at 26-all on a McCants layup midway through the third quarter
- The surge extended to 16-4 as the Hounds took the lead for good, 31-29, on two Brandi Gomez free throws with 1:29 left in the third, before Kaylee Edgemon hit a trey for a four-point lead

- The Greyhounds limited St. Mary's opportunities and held a combined 30-11 edge in points scored off turnovers and offensive rebounds
- Gomez hit three of her four three-point attempts and finished with 13 points
