Mikaehla Connor poured in 11 points and connected on five of her seven free throws for the Eastern New Mexico University women's basketball team ((3-4; LSC 0-2) in Saturday afternoons Lone Star Conference matchup at Greyhound Arena. Fifth-ranked West Texas A&M (7-0; LSC 2-0) got off to a fast start and pulled away for a 61-44 victory. The game was sponsored by Dr. Peter L. Thompson DDS.
In the Numbers
- WT held a 37-29 edge in rebounding, although Eastern finished with a 17-8 lead on the offensive glass
- ENMU held a 7-5 advantage in second-chance points
- Dasia Johnson and Brandi Gomez each scored seven points
- Shelby Jones collected a team-high eight rebounds and scored six points
- Madison Parker led WT with 15 points, five caroms and two assists
