STEPHENVILLE, Texas. – The Eastern New Mexico University women's basketball team held Tarleton State without a field goal for the final 3:54 of the contest to claim a 78-72 overtime win in Stephenville. The Hounds improve to 4-5 overall and 1-3 in Lone Star Conference action following the victory.

"Tarleton State is always a very tough environment to play in," ENMU Head Coach
Josh Prock said. "I was very pleased with the way we kept our composure to earn a hard-fought victory against a very talented Tarleton team. We won this game with our free throw shooting and I was very pleased with how we executed from the line."

Saturday marked the first time since the 2004-05 season that ENMU went to overtime in back-to-back games. Additionally, the Hounds had the highest field goal percentage of the season (52.1%) and matched a season-high with 20 made free throws (UTPB). The Green and Silver held a 42-22 edge on the glass, including a 31-12 advantage on the defensive end.

Shelby Jones produced her second double-double of the season and third in her career with 10 points and 10 boards. The sophomore went 6-for-6 from the charity stripe and dished out a pair of assists. Edgemon had a career-high 17 points on 5-of-6 shooting from the field and free throw line while grabbing eight boards.
Jasmine Hotchkins and
Mikaehla Connor each added 13 points for the Hounds.

The final minute of the fourth quarter featured three ties and three lead changes. Following a missed layup by
Dasia Johnson with five seconds to play down 64-62,
Mikaehla Connor grabbed the offensive board and tipped the ball in as time expired to force overtime.

In overtime, ENMU outscored the TexAnns 14-8 while knocking down its final four shots of the contest and holding TSU to just 20% shooting in the extra period.
