KINGSVILLE, Texas – The Eastern New Mexico University baseball team dropped both games of Friday's double-header against Texas A&M-Kingsville, 10-8 and 4-1. The Greyhounds move to 27-14 overall and 5-8 in Lone Star Conference action.
 
In the first game, the Green and Silver fell behind 7-1 before a late surge. ENMU put the tying run on-base in the top of the seventh with no outs, but an infield popup and a double play quelled the rally. Infielder Alex DeLaCruz paced the offense, going 3-for-3 with two doubles, three runs, two RBI and a walk. Outfielder Mike McNicholl turned in a strong game at the plate, with three hits and three RBI. On the mound, Alec Lemmon and Victor Persad scattered three runs over the final 4.1 innings to limit the Javelinas offense.
 
In game two, ENMU battled Kingsville to a 1-1 draw through the first four innings, but a three spot in the bottom of the fifth did the Hounds in as Eastern produced just seven baserunners in the contest. Jesus Villalobos went 1-for-3 with an RBI while Dwight Velarde fanned three of five batters faced over the final 1.1 innings.
