WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS — A strong defensive showing allowed the Eastern New Mexico University women's basketball team (8-7; LSC 4-4) to trim a 19-point deficit to just eight points. Midwestern State (9-5; LSC 6-2) managed to hang on for a 73-57 win over the Greyhounds in Lone Star Conference action, Saturday at D.L. Ligon Coliseum.

- The loss dropped the Hounds to 18-28 against Midwestern State with a 7-16 road record
- The loss also snapped Eastern's three-game win streak in the series
In the Numbers
- After allowing the Mustangs to shoot five-for-six from three-point range in the opening half, the Hounds did not allow any three-point buckets in the second half
- Trailing 53-39 late in the third quarter, Kaylee Edgemon's trey ignited an 11-2 Greyhound run which pulled the Hounds within 55-47
- ENMU held a 14-5 advantage in second-chance points
- The Greyhounds limited the Mustangs to a single field goal and a 7.1 shooting percentage in the third quarter
- Brandi Gomez had 12 points and five rebounds for Eastern
- Shelby Jones finished with seven points, five caroms and a blocked shot
- Dasia Johnson dished out four assists and blocked a pair of shots
- Amari Joseph chipped in six points
- Jasmine Richardson paced MSU with 15 points and nine rebounds
