Zach Parker poured in a team-best 16 points for the Eastern New Mexico University men's basketball team in Thursday's Lone Star Conference game at the First United Bank Center. The Greyhounds (8-11; LSC 3-7) connected on 20 of their 27 free throw attempts, but dropped an 82-63 decision to 11
th-ranked West Texas A&M (18-2; LSC 8-2).
The Key Runs
- The Buffaloes held a 26-14 lead with 6:44 left in the opening half
- Nick Brown hit a free throw and a trey, followed by a dunk from Shawn Shelton
- The 6-0 run pulled the Hounds within 26-20 with 4:53 left until intermission
- West Texas A&M answered with a 16-3 run which stretched into the second half and pulled away for the win
In the Numbers
- The Hounds' 20 made free throws were there most since hitting 30 in a win over Lubbock Christian last month
- ENMU held a 26-20 edge in points off turnovers and a 6-2 lead in fastbreak points
- Lamarquis Thompson scored 14 points for Eastern
- Shelton chipped in 11 points
- Isaac Maldanado grabbed eight caroms
- Arcaim Lallemand added five rebounds and three steals
