ODESSA, TEXAS —In their second opportunity to pick up a Lone Star Conference win over University of Texas of the Permian Basin this season, the Eastern New Mexico University women's basketball team (11-8; LSC 7-5) converted 24 offensive rebounds into 28 second chance points. The Greyhounds needed every bit of those points in Saturday's 68-65 win over the Falcons (6-14; LSC 4-8) at the UTPB Gym. Senior
Daeshi McCants poured in 20 points, grabbed 19 rebounds, dished out four assists and blocked two shots to lead ENMU.

- The Hounds improved to 4-2 against UTPB with a 2-0 record on the road

McCants in the Books
- McCants' six double doubles this season trails only Elizabeth Richards (14, 2006-07) and Tiana Bryant (7, 2005-06)on the ENMU single-season list
- ENMU began tracking double doubles in 2000-01
- McCants' 19 rebounds were the most by an ENMU player since Richards accomplished the feat three times in 2006-07, also as a senior
- McCants' matched a career high with 20 points and the contest marked the third time scoring that total
The Key Run
- In a game which was tied five times with 12 lead changes, the Falcons pulled even for the final time with 4:18 left
- Kaylee Edgemon hit two free throws to give the Hounds the lead for good and spark a 7-2 run to give Eastern a 64-59 lead with 22 seconds left
- ENMU scored seven of its final nine points at the free throw line, with Brandi Gomez hitting the final four at the charity stripe to seal the game
Beyond the Box Score
- The game marked the second time this season ENMU outrebounded a team by at least 20 (Texas A&M-International was the other)
- Eastern has hit more than 80 percent of their free throws for two straight games for the first time this season
- The Hounds are 8-3 in their last 11 games
