ATLANTA, GA. — With five homeruns, which included a grand slam from junior outfielder
Chris Padilla, the Eastern New Mexico University baseball team (5-2) won its first two games at the PeachTree City Classic. The Hounds swept Morehouse College (3-3) by scores of 8-5 and 12-2 top start play.
Game 2
- Austin Paisar fanned three batters and allowed no earned runs over four innings in the nightcap
- The Hounds erased a 1-0 deficit in the bottom of the first inning on a two-run blast from Reynaldo Guillen and never looked back
- Padilla's third inning grand slam extended the lead to 9-1
- Malcolm Smith capped the scoring with a two-run shot in the fifth to give ENMU a 12-2 advantage
Game 1
- Jonathan Joy went the distance in the openr and allowed two earned runs with eight strikeouts
- Garland Webster's double in the first inning staked ENMU to a 3-0 lead as the Hounds scored the first six runs of the game
- Julian Heredia homered in the third inning as the Hounds cruised to victory
