Brockman Leads Explosive Offense in Win Over Hilltoppers

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS — Sophomore catcher Samantha Brockman homered, drove in four runs and batted three-for-four as the Eastern New Mexico University softball team (3-4) won its second straight game at the St. Mary's Classic. Ashley Lopez's third-inning homer gave the Hounds the lead for good on the way to an 8-5 win over St. Edwards (0-2) at The Park at St. Mary's University.
 
In the Series
  • Although the victory was ENMU's third overall in the series, the Hounds have won two of the last three meetings
  • 11 of the program's 14 meetings have taken place on a neutral field
  • Neither team has hosted the other since a March 2013 doubleheader in Portales.
 
Using the Long Ball
  • Eastern already has eight homers this season
  • The Hounds have homered in five straight games
  • Today marked the second multi-homer game of the season, as ENMU went yard three times against Cal State-Monterey Bay
