Julian Heredia homered and drove in three runs as the Eastern New Mexico University baseball team (14-7; LSC 0-1) opened Lone Star Conference play, Friday evening at Wilder Park. The Greyhounds got off to a quick start, but #16 West Texas A&M (19-7; LSC 1-0) rallied to pick up an 8-5 win.

- Chris Padilla doubled in the ENMU fourth and scored on a squeeze bunt from Shank to extend the Greyhound lead to 5-3
- WT scored four runs in the bottom of the inning and held on for an 8-5 win
- Padilla and Smith both hit 2-for-4
- Heredia hit 3-for-4 in the game
- Joe Corbett tossed seven innings to earn the win for the Buffaloes
