PORTALES, NM – The Eastern New Mexico women's soccer team took on the fifth nationally-ranked team in the country, Dallas Baptist University, on Saturday afternoon in Greyhound Stadium. The Patriots handed the Hounds a 3-0 loss.
DBU's Ashley Merrill headed in a long cross from Summerlyn Heller just over six minutes into the contest to put her team up 1-0.
In the 20th minute, Jenna Patterson made a run towards the goal and found the back of the net to extend the DBU advantage to 2-0.
The Patriots saw one more goal in the first half, this time off the foot of S. Heller to take a 3-0 lead.
DBU's offense continued to set the pace in the second half but the Greyhound defense stood strong to keep them off the board through the remainder of the contest.

- Offensively for the Hounds, Katey Stice paced the team with three shots, while Kelsey Medina had two.
