Greyhounds Playout 1-1 Draw against St. Mary's

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Eastern New Mexico women's soccer traveled to St. Mary's University for a Lone Star Conference (LSC) contest on Saturday evening. Each team could not be separated after 110 minutes of play, with both teams settling for a 1-1 draw.

Both teams could not find a way through in the first half, with the Rattlers registering three shots on goal in the first half, while Eastern just had one shot on target in the first 45 minutes.

The Greyhounds would break the deadlock in the 55th minute to take a 1-0 lead. Sierra Villanueva won the ball high up the field and sent a looping shot from 30 yards out over the head of the Rattlers goalie, Rebecca DiFronzo, and nestling in the roof of the net.

The Greyhounds defensive resistance would be broken with six minutes remaining in the game. Love Tovar's header off of a cornerkick found the back of the net, putting the score at 1-1. St. Mary's and Eastern could find a goal in regulation, sending the game to OT.
