PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico lost a heartbreaker to West Texas A&M, 2-0, Saturday night.
The Greyhounds held the Buffs scoreless in the first half behind four saves from
Paul Waschkau, including a high diving stop in the third minute of play.
WTAMU kept attacking ENMU's right side defense throughout the night and was able to wiggle their way inside the box and find the back of the net as one of the conference's top scorers, Kenny Brown, gave his team the lead in the 71st minute.
The Buffs continued to keep possession away from the Hounds and notched their second goal of the evening as Kenny Brown sent a long pass to Ben Siri who knocked the ball down and dribbled it for a score in the 81st minute.
The Greyhounds close out home play with a match against Texas A&M International Wednesday evening with kickoff set for 4 p.m. at Greyhound Stadium. As always, admission is free.
