#11 West Texas A&M Gets Past Volleyball, 3-1

The Greyhounds faced a nationally ranked team for the first time this season.

CANYON, TEXAS – Eastern New Mexico Volleyball faced a tough matchup against #11 West Texas A&M, falling 3-1 on Saturday afternoon at WT Fieldhouse "The Box".
 
The national ranked Lady Buffs grabbed the first two sets over ENMU, taking the first set 25-18 and the second frame 25-11. In the first set, WT kept a comfortable gap to pull away in the opening set. West Texas A&M picked up the second set thanks to a 10-0 stretch in the middle of the set.
 
Eastern grabbed the third set 27-25 over the Lady Buffs, with extra points being needed to decide the set. ENMU took hold of the set after an 8-1 streak, with the Greyhounds putting down five kills, finding two blocks, and a service ace to go up 14-10. However, the Lady Buffs rallied to get back in front of ENMU, 17-16. From then, both teams went back and forth to pit the score at 25-24 WT. From that point, Eastern found three straight points to take the set.
 
In the final set, the Greyhounds had an early advantage over WT, but the home team used a 10-1 point streak to go up 16-10. The rest of the set, both teams traded points with each other with WT collecting the set 25-16 over ENMU.

"I'm proud of our effort and our fight today. This is one of the best WT teams I've seen since coaching in this conference, and they have had some great teams in the past," said Head Volleyball Coach Sia Poyer.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
