Samantha Vasquez' long range goal proved to be the difference, as Eastern New Mexico Woman's Soccer secured a road Lone Star Conference victory over Oklahoma Christian University, 1-0. The Greyhounds move to 4-7 on the season, holding a 2-4 LSC standing. The Eagles move to 3-5-4 on the season, with 1-4-2 conference standing.
The Greyhounds and Eagles were evenly matched to start the opening 45 minutes. Oklahoma Chrsitian provided an early effort on goal, which was smothered by the Hounds keeper
Samantha Jeffries. The Greyhounds found their first shots midway through the half, with
Kelsey Medina testing the goalie and Vasquez also having their shot saved. The score read 0-0 at the break.

Oklahoma Christian put on some early pressure to start the second half, find two shots in the opening 15 minutes. In the 61
st minute, ENMU found the breakthrough goal with Vasquez striking the ball into the back of the net. After the OC goalie came out of the penalty area to clear the ball, Vasquez took the arid clearance first time from over 40 yards out with the powerful shot slipping past the recovering goalkeeper, 1-0 ENMU.

Trailing, the Eagles tried to breakdown the Greyhounds backline but couldn't find any shots on goal heading into the last five minutes. The last chance of the match fell to the Eagles with a swiveled effort in the penalty area stopped by Jeffries.
