PORTALES, N.M. – With the start to the 2022-23 Women's Basketball season just over one month away, Head Women's Basketball Coach
Meghan De los Reyes as announced the 2022-23 schedule for the Eastern New Mexico Woman's Basketball program.
Overall, the Greyhounds field a 27-game schedule with five non-conference contests before heading into a 22-game conference schedule. Eastern will play in Greyhound Arena 13 times during the campaign, while playing away from home 14 times.
Last season, the Greyhounds secured a trip to the 2022 LSC Postseason Opening round after finishing with a record of 10-14, with a Lone Star Conference record of 6-10. ENMU's season cam down to the wire with a narrow 88-85 defeat against Cameron University in the postseason opening game.
The Greyhounds have made significant changes from the 2021-22 season, bringing in nine new student-athletes into the team, along with addition of assistant coach
Martin Pazanin. Eastern retain
Bella Stone, who started 18 games in 2021-22, and return
Julia Chavez,
Alexsis Johnson, and Stacey Ajobiewe, with each student-athlete averaging over 10 minutes per game.
"We are excited to announce our schedule for this upcoming season as we have assembled a strong non-conference schedule that includes our annual Conference Challenge followed immediately by two home Division II contests," said De los Reyes.

Eastern will begin its season in Las Vegas, N.M., as the Greyhounds will take part in the LSC/RMAC challenge. The Greyhounds will play Fort Lewis as its opening matchup, Nov. 11, for the second consecutive year, then conclude its first trip of the season against New Mexico Highlands, Nov. 12.

The Greyhounds head back to Greyhound Arena, where they welcome Eckerd College for its first home contest of the season, Nov. 23. Before heading into conference play, ENMU will face Western Colorado in Portales, N.M. on Nov. 26.
The beginning of December sees the start of conference play for Eastern, heading St. Edward's on Dec. 1, followed by a clash with St. Mary's on Dec. 3. Before heading into the winter break, the Greyhounds will face Northern New Mexico in a non-conference match-up at Clovis High School. Then, ENMU welcome UT Tyler on Dec. 15, and Texas Woman's on Dec. 17 to and the first semester of action.
Eastern will be home for New Year's, with a contest against UT Permian Basin being the final game of 2022, Dec. 30. The Greyhounds will celebrate the start of 2023 with a home game against Angelo State, Jan. 1, before heading on a four-game road skid. The Greyhounds will travel to Cameron University (Jan. 5), Midwestern State (Jan. 7), Lubbock Christian (Jan. 12), and West Texas A&M (Jan. 14).
ENMU will be back at Greyhound Arena for the start of the new semester, facing Texas A&M International (Jan. 19) and Texas A&M-Kingsville (Jan. 21). From there, the Greyhounds return to the road against Angelo State (Jan. 26) and traveling to UT Permian Basin (Jan. 28).
The final month of the season features five home games for ENMU, including four straight home games to start February. Midwestern State (Feb. 2) and Cameron (Feb. 4) come to Greyhound Arena, with West Texas A&M (Feb. 9) and Lubbock Christian (Feb. 11) also making the trip to New Mexico.
"The Lone Star Conference is one of the toughest leagues in Division II women's basketball as the National Champion has come from the LSC three out of the last six years," said De los Reyes. "Every night is a battle in our conference and this year the bulk of our home schedule occurs around winter break in December before we return home for most of February to close out the conference season and celebrate our incredible seniors on February 20," said De los Reyes.
The Greyhounds will play road conference games at Oklahoma Christian (Feb. 16) and UAFS (Feb. 18) for the first time in program history, before retuning to the Land of Enchantment for the final week of the regular season. ENMU play at Greyhound Arena for its final home game of the season against Western New Mexico (Feb. 20), then travel to Western New Mexico (Feb. 23) to close out the regular season.
