CLAREMORE, Okla. – Rogers State beat Eastern New Mexico, 4-2, Thursday night at Soldier Field.
The two squads battled throughout the first half before an own goal found the back of the net in the 43
rd minute to put RSU up at the break.
The Greyhounds came into the second half with vengeance and equalized with a goal from
Ben Sauerländer seven minutes into the period.
Rogers State opened the match up with three straight unanswered goals.
Matteo Azambuja scored in the 84
th minute for the final goal of the night. He got an assist fromÂ
Sander Tønnessen.
The Greyhounds outshot the home squad, 13-12.
"The boys fought hard," said head coach
Brandon Misuraca. "I am excited to see their development over the next few weeks as they come together as a team."
Next up for Eastern is a Saturday afternoon match against conference foe Oklahoma Christian at 3 p.m. CT.
