ALPINE, Texas – Eastern New Mexico University showcased their talents at the 2022 Sul Ross State rodeo.
The second event of the season for the southwest region was highlighted by three results for Eastern.
In goat tying,
Caitlin Kreider posted a 7.1 finish (the best out of all Friday night performers), but it was 0.2 seconds away from advancing her to the short round.
Beau Dean finished 17
th in the long round of steer wrestling with a 5.2 finish Saturday morning, but the impressive time was not able to give him a spot in the final night of competition.
Shacie Marr kept a good pace in barrel racing, but her 16.55 performance Friday night came .31 seconds away from an invitation to the short round.
Next up for the Hounds is a trip to Clarendon College October 13-15 to continue the fall slate of rodeos in the southwest region.
