PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico and DBU combined for four goals in the second half in a 2-2 draw on Wednesday evening at Greyhound Stadium. With the result, ENMU shifts to 4-5-4 overall with a 2-1-2 conference record. The Patriots of DBU now have a 4-6-3 standing with 1-2-2 LSC record.
In the opening stanza, both teams came close but didn't find the opening goal.
Giani Mascarel struck the post after 13 minutes played, while
Paul Waschkau made a pair of fine saves for ENMU. DBU did strike the crossbar before the half ended, but it remained 0-0 at the break.

Shortly after the restart, DBU opened the scoring with a header at the back post following a lifted cross from the left wing. However, ENMUÂ responded in a flash with
Felix Drizinsky bursting down into the box and playing across for
Nick Huenig to tap in. a few minutes later,
Ben Sauerländer tucked home a loose ball in the box to give ENMU the lead. The lead lasted less then 10 minutes with DBU scoring shortly after to make the game 2-2.
Ludwig Scherer recorded the last shot on goal in the 70
th minute, only being kept out by a great save from Patrick Banich. The points were shared 2-2 between the programs.Â
NOTABLE STATS
- Huenig and Sauerländer scored the goals for ENMU, while Drizinsky and Scherer each picked up an assist. Huenig, Matteo Azambuja, and Scherer each had two shots in the game. Waschkau produced a pair of saves in goal.
- Gavyn Rosales finished the game with a brace, with Peyton Voelker assisting the opening goal. Rosales and Voelker combined for seven shots in the match, with both finding two shots on goal.
- DBU finished the match with more shots (15-11) and more shots on goal (4-3). The Patriots accumulated ten corners in the match compared to the three of ENMU.

"It's very tough to beat a team twice in a season," said Head Men's Soccer Coach Brandon Misuraca. "We came out flat in the opening 45 minutes, and their opening goal woke us up in getting into the match. With both teams so evenly matched, the game had a draw written all over it." said Misuraca.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- ENMU and DBU played out a draw for the first time in series history, with ENMU leading 9-1-1 in the all-time standings.
- Huenig scored their fifth goal of the season, while Drizinsky picked up their fifth helper of the year. Sauerländer netted their first of the season, while Scherer had their first career assist.
- Eight Greyhounds played the entire 90 minutes of the match: Mathieu Beuvain, Drizinsky, Colin Hyzy, Abraham Lopez, Ludwig Scherer, Loris Tsiatsipy, Colin Ulrich, and Waschkau.
- Eastern now begins back-to-back road games, starting with #2 Midwestern State. Saturday's (Oct. 21) kickoff is slated for 4 p.m. from Stang Park.
