PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico Volleyball suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Texas A&M International on Friday evening at Greyhound Arena. ENMU slips to 8-16 on the season, while standing 0-11 in conference. The Dustdevils picked up their 14
th win of the season, 14-6, along with a record of 5-2 in conference play.
The Dustdevils came away with a sweep over ENMU, winning by set scores of 25-16, 25-18, and 25-17. In the opening frame, TAMIU used a 6-1 run to take a six-point advantage (12-6) but ENMU brought it back to just one point at 12-11. The Dustdevils closed the frame on an 8-1 run to take the first. To begin the second set, TAMIU led 11-3 over the Greyhounds. ENMU brought the lead to as low as three, but Texas A&M International completed the stanza 25-18. In the final frame, Eastern fell behind 6-0 to start, but a 9-1 run in the middle of the set caused a 14-14 tie. From there, four straight points gave followed by a 6-1 run propelled TAMIU over the Greyhounds.
NOTABLE STATS
- Mikaela Garvin hit effectively (.440 hitting percentage), finishing with a team best 13 kills.
- In terms of assists, Kayla Ison led the offense with 14 assists, while Gracelyn Stubbs supplied 12 assists.
- On defense, Getsemani Carrasco posted a team high 12 digs. Stubbs and Garvin both finished with three total blocks during the contest.
- Eastern provided more blocks than the Dustdevils (8-5), while TAMIU led the way for kills (39-30) and digs (39-32).

- The Greyhounds play on Saturday, Oct. 21, to conclude homecoming weekend. ENMU will face Texas A&M-Kingsville with the match starting at 2 p.m. Eastern will be "Honoring #24" during tomorrows match, recognizing former player Jennifer Globe Poyer's induction into the New Mexico Athletics Hall of Fame.
