PORTALES, N.M. – During a back-and-forth match, Eastern New Mexico Volleyball dropped a four-set conference contest with Texas A&M-Kingsville on Saturday afternoon at Greyhound Arena, 3-1. ENMU slip to 8-17 on the season, while sitting at 0-12 in LSC action. Meanwhile, the Javelinas improved to 14-6 overall, with a 6-2 conference record.
In four tight sets, the Greyhounds fell in the end to the Javelinas: 18-25, 21-25, 26-24, and 23-25. After TAMUK took the opening two sets, the Greyhounds turned the momentum of the match in the third set. The Greyhounds used an early 7-0 run to take an 8-4 lead over TAMUK. Later in the set with both teams trading points, the Javelinas tied the set at 24-24 following three straight kills. ENMU closed out the third set with a kill and a service ace to win the set. During the final frame, Eastern led 11-6 over the Javelinas, but Texas A&M-Kingsville rallied to get back into the set. The Javelinas ended the frame on a 6-2 stretch to end the final set, 25-23.
NOTABLE STATS
- Gracelyn Stubbs stuffed the stat sheet with 14 kills, 18 assists, 10 digs and six total blocks (leading the team in kills and blocks).
- Along with Stubbs, Mikaela Garvin hit 14 kills and Kali Nelson supplied 10 kills. Kayla Ison led the Greyhounds with 19 assists.
- Getsemani Carrasco provided a match high of 19 digs, with Deziree Flowers contributing five total blocks, Garvin and Halle Sanders each finished with four blocks.
- The Hounds defense beat TAMUK for digs (57-49) and blocks (11-6), while the Javelinas bested Eastern for kills (63-51) and assists (59-42).

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Stubbs posted their 2nd triple-double of the season, with their first mark coming against UT Permian Basin (9/8/23).
- Sanders provided a season high for total blocks (4) and service aces (3).
- Eastern will have a quick turnaround as they face Southwest (N.M.) on Monday, Oct. 23 at Greyhounds Arena. The first serve is set for 6 p.m. The volleyball program will be holding its annual professor's night, recognizing ENMU professors and faculty members before the start of the game.
