Last Minute Goal Earns Men's Soccer a Draw with Texas A&M International, 1-1

Giani Mascarel scored with just 109 seconds to play in the draw.

LAREDO, Texas – A late goal from Giani Mascarel salvaged a point for Eastern New Mexico Men's Soccer against Texas A&M International, 1-1, on Wednesday evening at Dustdevils Field. With the draw, ENMU shifted to 4-6-5 on the season, with a 2-2-3 conference record. Meanwhile, the Dustdevils move to 6-5-4 overall, with a 2-3-2 record in LSC action.

The home Dustdevils started the contest as the more offensive team, firing four shots in the opening 30 minutes before the Hounds first effort. The continued pressure paid off as Texas A&M International scored just five minutes before halftime to take a 1-0 lead.

As the second period started, ENMU found themselves higher up the field and creating more chances. During the final moments of the match, Cooper Tyler clipped in a dangerous cross which Felix Drizinsky sent into the six-yard box. After the ball was parried in the middle, Mascarel crashed the ball into the roof of the net to tie the game at 1-1 with 109 seconds to play. The Hounds earned a point following the late goal.
