GUNNISON, Colo. – On a tough shooting night for the Greyhounds, Eastern New Mexico Women's Basketball fell 64-58 on the road against Western Colorado on Saturday evening at Paul Wright Gym. With their first loss of the season, ENMU stand at 3-1 overall while Western Colorado shift to 1-3 on the season.

Eastern New Mexico started the game ahead 4-0 in the opening minutes, but the home team compiled a 13-3 stretch to take the lead. Western Colorado ended the opening frame with a 16-9 lead. The second quarter trended towards WCU, using an 8-0 run in the middle of the period to establish a double-digit lead. The Greyhounds went into the locker room behind, 32-18.

After Western Colorado took it's largest lead of the night to start the third quarter, 33-18 (15 point lead), the Greyhounds stormed back to reduce the lead to just four points, 41-37. Over a four minute and 44 second span, the Greyhounds held WCU to just one field goal while going on a 16-6 streak. Heading into the final frame, ENMU trailed 48-41. During the fourth period, Eastern made the game a one possession contest at 53-50 WCU, after the Greyhounds scored seven unanswered points. However, the Mountaineers held off one final push from ENMU to take the game 64-58.
NOTABLE STATS
- ENMU slashed 35.7% (20-56) from the field, 4-19 from three (21.1%), and a perfect 14-14 at the foul line. The Mountaineers only took 39 shots in the game (20-39) but finished shooting 51.3% from the floor and 50.0% from three-point range (10-20). At the charity stripe, WCU finished 14-21 (66.6%)
- Western Colorado finished with a game high 31 rebounds, opposed to the Greyhounds 29 boards.
- Jamila Nansikombi-Gunter finished with a team best 19 points, while adding four rebounds and a team high five steals. Deja Adrian tallied 15 points in the defeat with a team high five rebounds.
- Jaz Salon compiled 11 points with four rebounds, while Vanessa Oduah picked up nine points, four steals, and three assists (team high).

"We weren't ready to play tonight, that's on me as a coach," said Head Women's Basketball Coach Blake Huber. "We got outplayed from start to finish. We didn't execute our scout and played too much me ball offensively. I didn't put us in good positions and that's on me as a coach," said Huber.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Eastern faced Western Colorado in Gunnison for just the second time in series history, with the first-time meeting coming back in 2001.
- 17 steals in the game marked a season-high, while recording the 5th most steal in a single game in program history. It is the most steals since ENMU had 20 steals against Northern N.M. in 2019.
- ENMU also tied a single-game record for free throw percentage (1.000) finishing 14-14 at the line. It marks the most made free throws in a single-game while shooting 1.000.
- The Greyhounds will not be away from the Centennial State for long, returning to Colorado to face CSU-Pueblo on Friday, Nov. 24. The first tip from Massari Arena is set for 5:30 p.m.
