PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico University's Esports will head to the New Mexico Technology in Education (NMTIE) conference this week, taking place on Nov. 8-10 at the Isleta Resort & Casino in Albuquerque, N.M.
 
"I'm excited to bring our students out to compete again," said Head Esports Coach Josef Garcia. "This will be the first time traveling for two of our students to compete for Eastern. Last time we traveled we performed well, so I'm hoping to have a good showing again," said Garcia.
 
The team will be participating in the conference's Super Smash Bros tournament, held over the three-day conference, with the championship matches being held on Friday.
