#5 Angelo State Handles Baseball, 11-1 (7 Inn.), on Opening Day

Jonatan Clough scored the Greyhounds only run after a 4th inning homerun

SAN ANGELO, Texas - Eastern New Mexico Baseball fell in its opening day clash with #5 Angelo State University, 11-1 (7 Inn), on Friday afternoon at Foster Field. ENMU fall to 0-1 on the season, with Angelo State moving to 1-0.

However, Greyhounds couldn't push a runner across the plate.  Eastern scored their first run in the fourth inning, courtesy of Clough.

FROM THE SOURCE

"(Noah) De La Riva gave us a chance through 4 innings but we just couldn't capitalize or get anything going at the plate for him with runners on," said Head Baseball Coach Riley Price. "After a few mistakes on defense and not controlling the running game well, the wheels fell off for us and they took the game over offensively like good teams do," said Price. "Despite the score, I saw some good things that we just need to build on moving forward. Expecting guys to compete a little better at the plate tomorrow and will need to clean it up on defense. Excited to see how this group responds," said Price.
