FORT SMITH, Ark. – Eastern New Mexico Baseball came from behind to win its series opener, 11-6, against The University of Arkansas-Fort Smith on Thursday afternoon at Crowder Field. Rutger Poiry drove home the run with a sacrifice fly to center field.
In the sixth, the Greyhounds loaded the bases with one out after three hit-by-pitches in the inning. Poiry drove in a run with a sacrifice fly to center field, to make the game just one run. Then,

Clough then bombed a ball over the left center field fence to put the Greyhounds ahead 8-6 over the Lions.
After taking a two-run advantage, the Eastern defense came up big to hold the Lions in the bottom of the seventh. UAFS loaded the bases with no outs to start the inning, with the Hounds calling on
William McBride from the bullpen to get them out of the jam. An infield fly, then an incredible 6-4-3 double play ended the inning to preserve the Greyhounds advantage.

FROM THE SOURCE
"Rubio did not have a great start on the mound for us, but started to settle in as the game went on and allowed for our offense to take the game back," said Head Baseball Coach Riley Price. "Clough came up big with a timely home run and Ponce turned another huge bases loaded double play to get McBride out of a jam. McBride did a great job again for us out of the pen to secure the win today," said Price. "We need to minimize better on the mound and play cleaner baseball going into tomorrow's double header,".
