SAN ANGELO, Texas – The top seeded #2 Angelo State University took game one against the eighth seeded Eastern New Mexico Greyhounds, 11-0 (7 Inn.), in the series opener on Friday evening at Foster Field at 1
st Community Credit Union Stadium. The #2 Rams now take a 1-0 series lead in a best-of-three set. The Hounds slip to 23-27 on the year, while ASU improve to 43-8 overall.

Demetrio Archuleta logged a single in the first inning with two-outs to get a Greyhound on the base paths, but the Rams shut down any further advances. Angelo State scored the game's first run in the first inning after a bunt single with a runner on third pushed home a run, 1-0 ASU.
Nick Schifftner got into scoring position in the third inning with a two-out triple to right center, but the Rams defense forced ENMU to leave the runner stranded. In the next half inning, a two-run home run for Angelo State pushed the home team ahead 3-0.

Following a scoreless fourth inning, the Rams used a two-out double to score a pair of runs in the fifth inning to jump ahead 5-0 over ENMU. Then in the sixth inning, the Rams complied four hits to score six runs in the inning to go up 11-0 over the Greyhounds. A two-run double started the scoring, followed by a base loaded RBI single, sacrifice fly, and two-RBI single completed the big inning. The Greyhounds were not able to muster a comeback as the Rams ended the game in seven innings, 11-0.

- The hot hitting Rams supplied 11 hits, compared to the two of ENMU.
- Schifftner and Archuleta were responsible for the base hits, while Dylan Hummel and Willie Ponce each reached base on a walk.
