KEARNEY, Neb. – Eastern New Mexico Women's Soccer played out a high scoring 3-3 draw against Quincy University on Sunday afternoon at Ron & Carol Cope Stadium at Foster Field. The match was delayed due to lightening in the area and had a further stoppage midway through the game due to more lightning in the area. The Greyhounds now move to 1-1-3 overall, with Quincy standing at 0-3-1.
The Hawks were the first team to strike with 11 minutes on the clock and held that lead going into the locker room for half time. Shortly into the second half, the game was suspended due to lightning and after a short duration, both teams returned to the field.

After the restart, Eastern New Mexico jumped on the board via
Sydney Saxon.
Haley Huff sent in a cross from the left wing, and Saxon stuck out a foot to divert the ball into the back of the net, 1-1. Just three minutes later, Quincy scored from a corner kick to regain the lead, 2-1. In the 73
rd minute, Huff and Saxon combined again, with Saxon firing home their second goal of the match to bring the game level again.

With just three minutes to play, the Greyhounds took their first led of the game with
Emma Hafenbrak scoring the goal. Saxon struck a deep free kick into a dangerous area, and a glancing header from Hafenbrak gave ENMU a 3-2 edge. However, Quincy scored with just 68 seconds left in the match from a corner kick to bring the score level at 3-3.
NOTABLE STATS
- Saxon recorded a pair of goals and an assist, while Huff dished out two assists. Hafenbrak also netted for the Greyhounds late in the match. Brianna Eye, Caroline Jensen, and Huff each recorded two shots in the game.
- Quincy's first goal was scored by Lisa Albarran, while Paige Nguyen scored the final two goals for QU. Alexis Boyer, Emmie Kim, and Tatum Brookhart each recorded an assist in the match.
- As for the goalies, Samantha Jeffries made one save in net for ENMU, while Julia Mincher had five saves in goal for QU.
- ENMU led the way for shots, 8-7, with every shot Eastern recorded being on target.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Saxon netted their first and second career goals for ENMU, along with their first career assist. Huff potted their first and second assist of the season, while Hafenbrak scored their second goal of the campaign.
- With a pair of goals and a assist, Saxon set a new program record for points in a single game with five and is just the sixth different person to score a brace for ENMUÂ in program history. Huff's duo of assists tied a program record also.
- As a team, the Greyhounds recorded nine points in the match, the second most in a single match in program history. Three assists in a single game is tied for the most in program history.Â
- ENMU and Quincy met for the first time in program history.
- Just two Greyhounds played the full 90 minutes: Eye and Jeffries.
- Samantha Wood made their collegiate debut for ENMU, playing in 19 minutes during the match.
- The Greyhounds continue their road stretch on Friday, Sept. 15th, heading to Colorado Christian for a morning match with the Cougars. Kickoff at Trailblazer Stadium is set for 11 a.m.
