PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico Men's Soccer produced a 1-1 result on Saturday evening at Greyhound Stadium against Texas A&M International. The tie sits ENMU at 2-3-2 overall, while the Dustdevils settle for their first tie of the season (4-2-1).
The Greyhounds looked lively in the open minutes of the game, with
Ignacio Lopez having a shot cleared off the goal-line shortly after kickoff. A big chance came for the Dustdevils soon after, but
Hugo Sacco clawed the ball from the goal-line to keep the contest scoreless. Eastern broke open the contest in the 37
th minute with
Felix Drizinsky hitting the back of the net. A through ball from I. Lopez set up the wingback to give the Greyhounds a 1-0 lead at the break.

During the second half, the Dustdevils piled on the pressure with four shots and four corners in the first 15 minutes of the second period. TAMIU did tie the contest in the 62
nd minute, with a powerful strike from 20 yards out. Each team had chances to win the contest, but both goalkeepers kept the game at 1-1, finishing in a draw.
NOTABLE STATS
- Drizinsky bagged the Greyhounds goal, while I. Lopez garnered an assist. Both Drizinsky and I. Lopez led the team in shots with a pair each. Sacco made four saves during the match in the ENMU net.
- Guy Leherer and Jorge Amaya combined for the goal, with the former scoring for the Dustdevils. Leherer led all competitors with seven shots with four on target. Goalkeeper Gal Grodetzki made a pair of saves in net for TAMIU.
- Texas A&M International finished the match with 13 shots compared to the eight of ENMU, with shots on goal being 5-4 in favor of TAMIU. In total, the Dustdevils committed 11 fouls with a pair of yellow cards, while ENMU posted four fouls and one yellow card.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Greyhound defense held the Dustdevils to a season low, 11 shots during the match. Coming into this week, TAMIU led the nation in shots per game with 17.2 per game.
- Drizinsky secured their second goal of the campaign, with I. Lopez distributing their second assist of the season.
- Seven Greyhounds played the entire 90 minutes of the match: Alex Garðarsson, Abraham Lopez, Sacco, Ludwig Scherer, Loris Tsiatsipy, Cooper Tyler, and Colin Ulrich.
- Eastern conclude non-conference action on Wednesday, Sept. 27, when ENMU travel to San Antonio, Texas to face St. Mary's University. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. (MST)
