Women's Soccer Suffers Setback Against Midwestern State, 5-0

The Mustangs scored five minutes into the contest.

WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Eastern New Mexico Women's Soccer suffered a 5-0 setback against Midwestern State on Wednesday evening at Stang Park. The loss moves ENMU to 1-4-4 with a 0-2-1 conference standing. The Mustangs improve to 5-2-2, while holding a 2-1-0 record in the LSC.

MSU wasted no time to start the match, scoring six minutes into the game. The Mustangs doubled their lead in the 14th minute, while picking up a third goal in the 33rd minute. The home team closed the first period with a score in the 41st minute. Midwestern State picked up one final goal in the 70th minute, ending the contest 5-0 over ENMU.

NOTABLE STATS

  • Nina Ballesteros led ENMU with two shots in the match, while three other Greyhounds recorded one shot in the game. Samantha Jeffries made six saves in net, playing 78 minutes, while Yaritza Pelayo made a pair of saves during 12 minutes in goal.
