(RV) DBU Surges Past Volleyball, 3-0

PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico Volleyball faced a tough challenge with (RV) DBU, falling in three sets to the Patriots. The Greyhounds fall to 8-9 overall with a 0-4 LSC record. Meanwhile, the Patriots improve to 11-4 and remain undefeated in conference play at 4-0.
 
In the opening set, both teams went back and forth to take the lead. With the score tied at 13-13, DBU rattled off 11 unanswered points, wrapping up the set 25-14. ENMU started the second set ahead 14-9 over the Patriots, but a back and forth with a 6-2 stretch leaving ENMU with a 20-19 lead. However, six points in a row from DBU ended the set 25-20 for the Patriots. In the final set, DBU led by as many as eight in the set, with a 25-17 set win over ENMU.

NOTABLE STATS

  • A pair of Greyhounds each recorded six kills, Rylee Mapes and Gracelyn Stubbs, while two Greyhounds contributed five kills, Deziree Flowers and Mikaela Garvin.
  • For assists, Kayla Ison posted a team high 11 assists, with Stubbs adding 10 assists.
  • Leading ENMU on defense, Getsemani Carrasco gathered 19 digs. Flowers led ENMU at the net for four total blocks, with Garvin and Stubbs finishing with three total blocks each.
  • The Patriots were a force offensively, finishing with 39 kills and 34 assists. DBU finished the match with 16.0 blocks in the match, while ENMU led the match with 50 digs.
