ODESSA, Texas – In a wire-to-wire game, Eastern New Mexico Women's Basketball fell 59-57 against UT Permian Basin on Thursday evening at the Falcon Dome. Eastern fall to 4-7 on the season, while moving to 0-5 in LSC play. The Falcons improve to 9-2 overall and 4-1 in conference action.
The first quarter featured a low scoring back and forth, with each team shooting under 35.0% from the floor. UTPB led the contest after the opening ten minutes, 10-9. The home team opened the second frame on a 12-2 run to take a 22-11 edge over Eastern. However, the Greyhounds battled back to make the contest just one possession going into halftime, 28-25. Â

Both teams battled to begin the 3
rd period, with ENMU taking 32-29 lead shortly into the period. ENMU took its largest lead of the game, 38-34, shortly after and held a 41-40 advantage going into the final quarter. The final period proved to be the highest scoring for both teams, with each team trading the lead back-and-forth. Down the stretch UTPB took advantage of several trips to the foul line holding a 59-57 lead with 12 seconds to play. The Greyhounds had a few contested chances to send the game to overtime, but the ball didn't fall and UTPB held on for a 59-57 win.

- The Greyhounds finished shooting 38.3% from the field (19-49), 40.9% from behind the arc (7-22), and slashed 12-17 at the foul line (70.6%). On the other side, the Falcons compiled 40.9% field goal shooting (18-44), holding a 31.3% from three (5-16), while finishing 18-26 at the charity stripe (69.2%).
- ENMU controlled the rebounding (38-26), including doubling up UTPB on the offensive glass (12-6).
- Jaz Salon provided the offensive spark for the Greyhounds scoring 21 points (7-15 FG, 5-10 3PT FG), including 10 points in the final quarter. Hunter reached the 10-point mark during the game, while Adrian recorded nine points. Hunter pulled down a team best six rebounds, along with six boards from Vanessa Oduah.
